Louie Elser is a completely independent darkwave dreampop producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based between Paris, France and San Francisco, California. Her music is influenced by other experimental producers such as FKA Twigs, SOPHIE, and Arca.
The track begins with Louie’s voice welcoming us almost immediately atop a steady bass line that builds up. As the track continues, we begin to find ourselves in an ethereal realm.
Once we get to the hook, we are trapped in the atmosphere of the song, taking us through space and time. I’m almost certain this track would be perfect to listen to while meditating. It’s definitely a must add to all your dreamy and ethereal playlists.

When did you first start making music?
I first started making music very young- my mom was the lead singer in a number of different latin jazz bands, and I was always watching her, sometimes even backstage. Our house had many instruments and I picked up both the guitar and piano really early on. I was composing songs by 10, and began producing them at 18
How did you come up with the concept for this track?
The concept of Egoless comes from romantic turmoil, a passionate love that ended badly, and I ended up losing the relationship/friendship all together due to being too prideful when I got hurt. I learned so much from that, I never want to be that way again. I think I’ll always regret the way I handled that ending; I had a much needed ego death shortly after. I was much younger but I still remember what I learned. Never lose love due to ego!
What was your favorite part creating this song?
My favorite part about producing this song was the vocal layers! The harmonies and mixing that thus went into it. Everything about the production and composition symbolizes something for me. The heavy bass was meant to replicate a heavy heart beat. The vocal harmonies were meant to recreate cries and an eerie ghost like atmosphere, like that of loneliness. It was super fun to lay down.
Can you give us any insight about the vibes in the studio with you?
My studio style ranges quite frequently! Sometimes I produce in the professional studio, and sometimes I stick to my bedroom studio to feel more intimate with myself. Sometimes I start with lyrics already written, sometimes I just start with the bass and whatever it’s meant to replicate. It all depends on what my feelings are like for the day! Eventually it all comes together
If the audience could only take one thing away from listening to your track, what would it be and why?
I would love the audience to understand what I mentioned earlier about never losing love or friendship over ego. Ego deaths are just as important as ego boosts- sometimes even more necessary to ground yourself!
What can we expect next from you?
I’m releasing a number of singles in these next few months! Gearing up to release a bigger project all together, and next year I’ll most likely be on tour!
Are there any other artists you’re listening to right now?
For the past few years, there’s been no bigger influence on me as both a person in general and as a musician than Arca. She is truly a force of nature and I havent been so stuck on an artist since I was 13 and obsessed with Lady Gaga. Arca has changed the way I think about production. I think you can hear it clearly in my recent and upcoming songs. I also have to mention Shygirl and Six Sex! I really love experimental women in music.
