Jay Electronica appears to be gearing up for the release of a new album titled, Bismillah Boys. The rapper teased it being, “ALBUM TIME,” in a post on Instagram on Monday. In doing so, he tagged over 100 artists and other celebrities. It’s unclear whether each will be involved.
Among those tagged are Beyoncé, Diddy, Jadakiss, 2 Chainz, Erykah Badu, Conway The Machine, Just Blaze, DJ Premier, and The Alchemist. Others, who aren’t musicians, are included as well such as Kyrie Irving, Dave Chappelle, Jerry Lorenzo, and more. Questlove commented on the post: “Damn…..not for nothing but I literally didn’t know I could “@“ so many people on a post.”

Other commenters shared their excitement for new music from the veteran rapper. “It’s time.. it’s really time. The game is about to change again,” one user wrote. Electronica has only released two studio albums during his storied career. He dropped both A Written Testimony and Act II: The Patents of Nobility (The Turn) in 2020. Despite not releasing an album in the last three years, Electronica has appeared on several projects including Kanye West’s Donda as well as Noname’s Sundial.
Jay Electronica Teases New Album
When Jay Electronica appeared on Sundial, Noname faced backlash from fans for his bars being antisemitic. In response, she refused to apologize. “I’m not going to apologize for a verse I didn’t write,” she said at the time. “I’m not going to apologize for including it on my album. If you feel I’m wrong for including that’s fair. Don’t listen. Unfollow and support all the other amazing rappers putting out dope music. Your disappointment truly means absolutely nothing to me and I say that with love.” Check out the announcement for Jay Electronica’s next album above.
