Matt Rife‘s upcoming comedy special, Natural Selection, is coming to Netflix soon. The streaming giant announced on Wednesday (Oct. 25) that the 28-year-old’s hourlong special will premiere on Nov. 15.
As previously announced on Sept. 8, the special — which follows Rife’s previous YouTube specials Only Fans and Matthew Steven Rife, released in 2022 and this past April, respectively — was filmed during the Sept. 22 and 23 stops of his ProbleMATTic World Tour at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. The special is the rising star’s first to be picked up by Nextflix.
According to the official logline for the program, it will follow Rife during the D.C. stops of the sold-out tour “after having amassed a large social following through his viral content showcasing his quick wit and crowd work.” The description continued, “Now in his first Netflix comedy special, Matt leaves no topic untouched — from crystals to social media trolls — and no audience member spared.”
Following the announcement, Rife spoke with Deadline to share what fans can look forward to seeing in his upcoming comedy special.
“The first half of it is so silly and ridiculous and fun, and the second half is some stuff I actually got to pour some thought into, which, if you’ve watched either of my previous specials, I kind of like to end the last of it with something people can think about, and put some thought behind, and give some real perspective on something I genuinely am passionate about, as well as making it funny with a fun story,” he told the outlet. “I’d say it’s my most fun hour yet. I think people are really going to like it. There’s something in there for everybody.”
