Albums We Didn’t Review 4 : You Do Won, Flint, ahreum, OAH!, Chicken Happen, Seojuyeonband

You Do Won : 77%

It’s a roughly polished modern rock EP. It’s checking all the boxes for the genre and sounds like You Do Won is finding his footing.

Flint : To all my questions

Flint is the melodic and ballad side of bands like Synsnake and Messgram. Other metalcore and hard rock female-fronted bands mix styles but Flint uses the instrumentation of those genres but only applies melodic vocals. To all my questions is a decent EP but it has a mixing problem because it lacks a dynamic experience. It just sounds muted.

ahreum : Blurry

I was originally going to talk about Golden Time !, but Blurry is the better and more recent option. I like ahreum‘s vocals a lot. They’re a little lower, have a bit more depth, and slide over the verse easily. But even when the song is different, she uses the same delivery on each of the four songs. She needs to experiment a little more.

Genre: indie pop mixed with electronic

OAH! : LUV PUNK

Like ADOY, who lived in the “commercial pop” genre for a long time, OAH! is a band that lives in commercial pop punk. It’s perfectly safe and enjoyable and can cater to a lot of different audiences. It’s a fun tangent.

Chicken Happen : Chicken Happen IV

I should have reviewed Chicken Happen IV a long time ago. The release date was sent over by the band, but I think there was some time between the news and the actual release. Chicken Happen IV is an album from the United States, not Korea. So mileage may vary depending on what you want to listen to. It’s a long album that has a lot of great songs.

Genre: indie rock

Seojuyeonband : After All

An easy-going and mellow alternative pop album. It’s solid in the genre of choice and no surprises. If you like the style, then you’ll like this.

Genre: pop, indie, ballad
