Storm-Drunk Whale : ’98 Live, The Still Stars and Poems of the Naked Body

Realistically, I think Storm-Drunk Whale is a difficult first-time listen. The appreciation comes from diving deeper into the music and sonic assault to hear all the different elements. ’98 Live, The Still Stars and Poems of the Naked Body is an experience that’s worth the investment.

Genre: experimental, shoegaze, noise, rock

Eukk : Eukkspress#1

Eukk is standard indie rock and rock music that sounds like hard modern rock without the distortion. The band’s origins started in 2018 but Eukkspress#1 is their second longer release after a 2021 full length. They have a nice style and sound that’s perfect for the rock music fan.

Genre: rock, indie rock

Kim il Du : Again i love you

Kim Il Du and Chin Sooyoung present a three-song EP that’s a collaboration between acoustic guitar and piano. It captures a moment and presents itself as a dream pop-ish shoegaze experience. Kim Il Du is constantly evolving and recent releases feel like a light impression of that time.

BrokenTeeth : Broken Dental Clinic (Live)

If you haven’t listened to BrokenTeeth, you’re missing out on an artist who’s keeping melodic shoegaze alive. His other albums are all great, but most people never get a chance to listen to live performances and Broken Dental Clinic shows off all is abilities.

KIRARA : cts8

I feel if you’ve heard KIRARA before, you are instantly familiar with the signature sound. cts8 is less about KIRARA though, with 10 remixes from artists like Fat Hamster, Ahn Maru, Jean Rhee, Vegetable Wife, meeroo choi, and more.

LO HAVI : WHO IS VICTIM?

WHO IS VICTIM? is LO HAVI‘s second EP and reminds me of a “best of” R&B and pop fusion style. It’s a nice introduction for most people and LO HAVI shows off well.
