Short Stuff 77: After Thoughts, Suwon Yim, RichRich, eeri, Son Yeji

After Thoughts : Heavy Heart

After Thoughts‘ “Heavy Heart” is a strong modern rock track. It has all the right melodic hooks and provides a nice calming tone.

Suwon Yim : Blue Thought

When I return to Suwon Yim‘s music, it’s always a nice switch. “Blue Thought” is a piano instrumental and feels like a warm night breeze. Alongside the melody, I like how you can hear the key movement in the background. It’s a song that fits its title.

RichRich : Wander

“Wander” sounds like a cross between melodic rock and Life and Time. RichRich presents a melodic track that has funk and groove moving throughout every verse.

eeri : 731

I didn’t realize it’s been two years since eeri‘s Inventory. Folk is the main driver of “731” and the song also sounds like it uses some traditional melodies too. “Flicker” mixes folk with electronic and synth undertones to create a hybrid Tim Burton-like quality. eAeon‘s feature adds an undertone to the vocals.

Son Yeji : GHOST

“GHOST” is melodic rock mixed with a ballad. I think Son Yeji wanted the chance to dive into a deeper range and show some power. It’s a slow burn and serves to highlight her vocals. I wish she would let loose though.
