Welcome back to another instalment of For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take time out of the week to curate a set of photos from the K-pop landscape.
The interplay of shadow and light can shift the perspective of a picture. Shadows add depth, drama, they can be used to distort or define a subject. While Blackpink’s Rosé is framed by a single spotlight, Yeosang of Ateez is backlit by the neon glow of city lights. A monochrome tint highlights the sunshine and shadows in RM’s pages for Vogue, while drawing out the detail in the accessories and body art that accentuate Taeyong’s album concept photos. A special mention must go to Shownu of Monsta X, who stands at a playful diagonal, lit by a simple strip of sunlight. Flick through these photos to find your favourite.
