Short Stuff 29 : timid mood, Choi WonBin, Kurani, SAAE, Ahn Maru, Itzel, Kozy&Noisy

timid mood : Rain falls

I’m impressed that “Rain falls” can sound like a generic track while also presenting itself as an intricate mixture of genres. It’s a slow burn that doesn’t leave your ears.

Choi WonBin : FUXK2

Formerly of wetter, currently of Snake Chicken Soup, and also soloist. “FUXK2” was a single before getting added to Choi WonBin‘s solo album. Honestly, I’ll probably miss reviewing this album but if you liked his old and current stuff, ACTING ROCKSTAR sounds like ideas that didn’t work for his other groups but create a nice solo persona.

Kurani : Harmful animals

Kurani shouldn’t have debuted with a song that’s so aggressive underneath the mellow indie funk rock. Finally, a band that’s offering something unique inside a recognizable genre.

SAAE : Meteo Shower !! End of the World !!

I don’t know anything about SAAE and I can’t find anything about them. But it’s a weird and additive ambient bedroom rock track.

Ahn Maru : DYSPHORIA

Ahn Maru goes for your throat. “DYSPHORIA” is fucking amazing. The two songs have that percussive electronic sound that I like the most.

Itzel : DIZZY

DIZZY is perfectly standard. Itzel is firmly solid within R&B and each song shows off her abilities. But it’s all safe. It will fit any R&B playlist without a problem.

Kozy&Noisy : 다른

When I first heard Kozy&Noisy, I thought of Misty Blue. The two bands don’t follow the same style. Kozy&Noisy leans towards melodic rock with this underlying shoegaze tone and Misty Blue was more indie pop rock. Either way, “다른” is interesting and makes me more curious about future releases.
