Short Stuff 71 : Choah, SYOT, kimpomme, lart, dizzymunzzy, muun

Choah : Veronika

There are only a few artists that I was instantly impressed by with a first listen. “Veronika” definitely leans more in Western folk and singer-songwriter territory, but Choah‘s vocals pull you into the song. Could be something special here.

SYOT : Daydream

It’s becoming more common to hear traditional instruments creating fusion and hybrid styles of music and it’s fucking great. SYOT combines gayageum, piano, and guitar, creating a new but familiar sound. The underlying synth instrumentals add an electronic twist with every instrument having a proper place.

kimpomme : Flash

“Flash” is a nostalgic mellow rock with ballad vocals track. It’s comforting and focused on melodies. Kimpomme‘s vocals are clear and warm and I feel like she’s holding back a little. A great throwback in 2025.

lart : DUMB LOVE

“DUMB LOVE” is a rock track that knows the direct it wants to go. The plodding tempo is supported with many layers and led by lart‘s vocals. It’s different from “Lethe” and honestly sounds more mature and acknowledges that it wants to go in a specific direction.

dizzymunzzy : 16senti

dizzymunzzy’s follow-up to “A Long Way To Go” is a fast-paced indie rock track that has an artificial ceiling. It wants to stay within a specific tone. But it also has a slow buildup throughout the 4:32 track time. A great second single.

muun : aqua

muun has the ability to draw you into the presented music. “aqua” is an apt song title because it feels like you’re floating in the middle of the ocean watching nature unfold around you. it’s a song that doesn’t need a big impact because it pulls you along comfortably.
