on_poem : Love Is
“Love Is” makes me think of a dark and mellow jazz bar with a couple of overhead lights cascading over a live band. on_poem‘s track is a jazz, ballad, and small amounts of funk track, highlighting late night with a strong drink.

Pearl Haze : Oclock
I thought “Oclock” would be a standard indie rock track from the introduction, but Pearl Haze switches that to an easygoing melodic rock track. The slow tempo lets the song dwell for a while and it’s a nice listen. It could be a little more dynamic though.

HANAJIN : The Shower in June
HANAJIN’s “The Shower in June” is an expected folk and singer-songwriter type of track. Nothing surprising, but still warm and welcoming. A great song if you like the genres.

Fakelemon : Murder-Suicide
“Murder-Suicide” is a garage rock song with a little bit of British rock-infused swagger. You may be familiar with Fakelemon‘s past work, but this is something new and with excellent energy.

Truth Teller : A Day I’ve Never Met
Even though Truth Teller says they combine rock, pop, and alternative, “A Day I’ve Never Met” is a straight-up pop punk song. And it’s great. The band has been around since 2015, but 2025 might be when the band gets momentum.

SWELL CITY : Summer Vacation
SWELL CITY’s “Summer Vacation” is a beachside upbeat pop rock song. It’s focused on the quick tempo and maintaining high energy. A good summer song indeed.

The SCREENS : The Whale
The SCREENS remind me of Trampauline and Trickyneko. It’s moody and atmospheric music with an electronic pop infusion. “The Whale” is a nice introduction but feels a little short for a full conversation.
